Another drug related death this time at Coachella

And only the second in it’s entire history.

In yet another case of drug and alcohol overconsumption, a young Coachella attendee named Kimchi Troung passed away at the festival, collapsing in the taxi area.

She received treatment at an aid station on the grounds, and was taken to JFK Memorial Hospital, before being transferred to Palm Springs’ Desert Regional Medical Center, where she was pronounced dead yesterday, according to the Riverside County Coroner.

Though fatalities have been common at electronic music festivals in recent years, Coachella has reported only one: Six years ago Benjamin Muller was found unconscious camping outside the festival grounds and died shortly thereafter, on April 28, 2008. The cause of death was determined to be a drug overdose.

Here is a picture of her, in better times:

The Sherp is deeply saddened and we hope we can all learn from this and we urge our readers to enjoy music authentically, keeping the intoxication at a minimum. Because quite honestly, if you need catalysts like drugs & alcohol to enhance your festival experience, you probably should reconsider attending. Straight up.
