Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2, the game will be a sequel to 2019’s Modern Warfare. Activision has dropped a new trailer for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2; which shows the box art of the game and reveals the launch date. Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 release date is October 28th, 2022. While not much is known about the game, familiar faces like Ghost, Captain John Price, Gaz; and Soap will be part of the new Call of Duty experience.
Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 story
Activision has given a short description of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 that says; “Task Force 141 makes its massive return with a global squad of iconic veterans; these Operators include Captain John Price, Simon “Ghost” Riley, John “Soap” MacTavish, Kyle ‘Gaz’ Garrick; and introducing Mexican Special Forces Colonel Alejandro Vargas”. Besides these, other details about the game are currently under the wraps.
It’s unclear when Modern Warfare 2 will be revealed. Rumors suggest that the game’s campaign will be revealed in June, with a multiplayer reveal coming in August. Reliable Call of Duty leaker CharlieIntel has claimed that Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 will come in three editions; Standard Edition, Cross-gen bundle, and Vault edition. CharlieIntel has also claimed that the game’s open beta will be available on PlayStation consoles before other platforms; despite Microsoft’s proposed acquisition of Activision Blizzard. Since none of these details are confirmed by Activision yet, they should be taken with a grain of salt.
Activision has not confirmed anything on formats either, and although Modern Warfare 2 is almost certainly going to cross-gen, it leaves open the possibility that it will appear on only current-gen consoles and PCs. There are also swirling rumors about the new Warzone coming out at the end of this year along with Call of Duty this year, but no official word has been released on this front. Alongside the launch of Modern Warfare 2 on 28th October something that Activision Blizzard will hope helps drive Flagship Call of Duty sales the sequel to Battle Royale spin-off Warzone, which promises groundbreaking innovation, is also expected to reveal itself at some point this year.
