Bestival Attendees Are Encouraged To Donate Their Tents To Syrian Refugees

Bestival urges all festival-goers to donate their tents to the refugee crisis in Calais, France.

Around 3,000 refugees from places such as Syria, Eritrea, Sudan and Afghanistan inhabit a French port in a humanitarian camp known as ‘The Jungle’. These people have very limited resources, and lack some basic facilities such as enough water and electricity. With not enough help in the near future, these temporary living condition of the refugees aren’t getting any better.

Therefore, a Bestival organizer/spokesperson came forward and urged attendees to donate their tents and other camping equipment, if its in usable condition, at specific drop-off points at the festival on Monday, 14 September. This seems like a good start, at least on the behalf of the festival.

We’re all quite familiar with the apocalyptic mess a festival ground is after the festivities are over, anyway. If you’re to attend Bestival, do help in any way you can. Find out more about ‘The Jungle’ here. Stay tuned for more news.
