7 Artists At Ultra Singapore That’ll Have New Songs To Play This Year

Ultra Singapore’s absolutely gorgeous lineup is out, but how many of these esteemed producers have new songs under the hood this year?

The Sherp takes a look at artists on the lineup that’ve had an amazing track record (pun intended) this year. Several producers have been constantly uploading and previewing new songs, and we thought it’d only be worthy if we gave them a mention.

So, without further ado, here they are!

1. ZHU

Fresh from a full-length album release very, very recently, ZHU has proven himself as one of the best newcomers in the industry. His sophomore album Generationwhy just shows how far he has come as an artist and a musician. The ‘Faded’ hit-maker will mesmerize crowds at Ultra Singapore, and you better not miss his set.

2. Deadmau5

The mau5 finally released a track properly this year, the downtempo ‘Snowcone’, showcasing Joel’s diversity in making tracks. He’s slowly previewing new stuff via Twitch, and how can we forget his contribution to mau5trap’s We Are Friends Vol. 5 compilation, ‘Saved’? It’s still better than all that stuff he uploaded on his now-inactive account fuckmylife.

3. DJ SNAKE

DJ SNAKE has been on an absolute roll this year. He released his debut album Encore, which features his hardest hitting track till date, ‘Ocho Cinco’ with Yellow Claw. He recently announced that this will be the only album he’ll ever put out, so now we guess he’s back to uploading singles. Nevertheless, new DJ SNAKE is always good!

4. Kygo

Not late to the album release party, Kygo saw the release of his own (and very, very diverse) debut album this year, Cloud Nine. It shows that Kygo can do more than just ‘use the same Nexus preset’ to make tropical house. He’s a pretty good pianist too, and his tracks are crafted to perfection.

5. Matador

Gavin Lynch aka Matador has had quite a few releases and remixes this year, including an album on Rukus, namely Ructions. Matador will bring the best of techno and tech house to Ultra Singapore, and his set is going to be a one-way journey into the world of untz.

6. Marshmello

The anonymous DJ Marshmello has come up in the news faster than anyone else, and not often for his releases. The masked producer has quietly been releasing music on his SoundCloud profile, including a couple of remixes and a collaboration with Jauz. He’ll probably play some IDs at Ultra Singapore, so don’t miss his set!

7. Nicole Moudaber

Wrapping up the list with Nicole Moudaber, the techno stalwart will adorn the Resistance stage this year. She has a couple of new releases this year, and her Mood label has been churning out release after release, with no loss in quality. Nicole has performed alongside the likes of Carl Cox and Victor Calderone, and will kill it at Ultra Singapore.
