5 ‘Pirates Of The Caribbean’ Masterpieces By Hans Zimmer You Must Listen To!

The man is a magician when it comes to music and these classics are proof of just that.

For the first time in the series since Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl which he co-wrote with Klaus Badelt, Hans Zimmer has NOT composed the music for the film.

Instead, one of his protégés, Geoff Zanelli, who worked on all previous four installments, is the main composer for the film. Zanelli has huge praise for Zimmer as a composer for the series, “What Hans did for the Pirates movies redefined the sound of the entire genre, it has been very fulfilling to work alongside him and producer Jerry Bruckheimer on the past four films. Dead Men Tell No Tales enlarges the Pirates universe with many new, unique elements, and I’m building a distinctive sound for this film that springboards off of many years of collaborating in the Pirates world.”

It takes a musical genius to compose these kind of pieces. The German film score composer and record producer is probably the biggest name in the industry. Here are 5 of his greatest songs in the series !

1. Up Is Down

It is amazing how Zimmer is able to pull off a tune that combines powerful and triumphant expressions and blend it with soft and relaxing vibes. Chills will run up and down your spine non-stop!

2. Angelica

The track is from the 4th movie – ‘Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides’Hans Zimmer combines with Rodrigo and Gabriela for this one. Imagine acoustic flamenco guitar melodies infused with Zimmer’s orchestral genius. HEAVEN!

3. Davy Jones Theme Song

Misery, pain, and rage all mixed in one song.  Every sound and every note tells you the pain and the sorrow of a man who still searches for his beloved and a story of a monster. No one could ever create such an emotional complex of music that dives straight into your heart. Look out for 1:13 !

4. Jack Sparrow

The track is arranged in a concert suit style. The opening melody, of the song, was used in Jack’s introductory scene in The Curse Of The Black Pearl. You know for sure that Jack Sparrow is up to no good when this song starts playing in the background.

5. He’s a Pirate

Without a doubt, this track is easily the best of the lot! This song makes you want to throw all things aside, get on a ship and be a pirate. I mean seriously, who doesn’t love the piece “He’s a Pirate”? Such a masterpiece! Hans Zimmer is the best there is, was, and ever will be.
