33 Injuries Caused As Lightning Strikes At Germany’s Rock Festival

33 festival attendees are injured overnight as lightning strikes at Germany’s Rock am Ring festival.

Rock am Ring festival, one of Germany’s biggest music festivals, is located in Medig, Western Germany. According to Guardian, this location was struck by lightning twice, early on Saturday morning.

The first strike hit the backstage area at about 1am, injuring eight people from the festival’s production teams, according to police. Just before 4am on the same day, lightning hit camping ground, injuring 25 more individuals.

Fortunately, none of the injuries was fatal as no one had suffered a direct hit.

The festival, being headlined by the likes of Foo Fighters, Skipknot and Prodigy, resumed essentially uninterrupted. Stay put for more festival news.
