Red Earth’s Saree Utsav will be a classic tribute to the beautiful outfit that is the life breath of India.

The Saree comes in various shapes and sizes, draped differently in different parts of the country and thus a part of everyday lives of an Indian women. The Saree Festival will be an attempt to create an ongoing tribute to the “most wondrous, mostΒ amoebicΒ pahnawa”

The Saree Festival attempts to be this unalloyed, all pervasive love affair with the drape,Β in bringing together the vast richness of styles, materials, traditions, techniques,Β experiments, vocabularies, sensibilities, that can all achieve fruition under the neverΒ ending swirl of the Saree.

What to expect :

Saree Mela – a curated range of contemporary Sarees – from hand-woven delights to design forward sarees.

Saree ka Gunijan Khana –Β the theoretical and performance component of Red Earth’s TheΒ Saree Festival hopes to bring together various voices and ideas around the Saree, in aΒ multidisciplinary approach to celebrate the wondrous swirl of the Saree.

The Gunijan Khana, literally the house of learned figures, will weave in talks, discussions,Β and presentations highlighting varied Saree awakenings, introduced to us by practitionersΒ from diverse practices like art, social sciences, film, design and other artistic disciplines.
