UK Trade & Investment, in association with Submerge, will  host The Exchange, a gathering which will focus on India’s growing importance as a music market

The music scene in India has received tremendous support from various bodies in the United Kingdom in the past few years through programs, collaborations and artist residencies.

In the past few years, India has risen up the ranks as one of the most preferred destinations to host a music festival. Now, a new initiative, titled The Exchange will see representatives of the UK music industry host a programme of educational seminars, networking events, conferences and artistes showcases in a concerted bid to tap into the fast-growing Indian music market and grow British presence in the territory. The conference is part of a week-long trade mission that has been put together by UKTI, in partnership with AIM (The Association of Independent Music) and British labels trade body BPI (British Phonographic Industry). It will be held from November 1 to 8.

The prime focus of this conference will be to build business opportunities across the music scene in India, and there will also be a three-city showcase tour headlined by Dirty Vegas and trance DJ John Fleming, which will also give the visiting UK delegates an insight into the live music space in India. The list of speakers who will be present at the conference include Devraj Sanyal, Owen Roncon, Ankur Tewari, Girish Talwar, Arjun Sankalia and Jehan JoharThe Exchange music conference which will be held November 7th at The Lalit Hotel in Mumbai.
