This Detroit cop breaks stereotypes as he drops some of his dance moves and hypes the crowd at Movement Electronic Music Festival.

It’s no secret that music festivals and law enforcement have no love lost between them. Sniffer dogs, patrolling, and security checks is as far as their interaction with festival frequenters goes. Until now. Meet Officer Frederick Youngblood.

This straight-laced, heavily armed officer joined the rave during the festival and flaunted some of his swave dance moves. Not just that, Youngblood also encouraged and hyped the crowd during Hudson Mohawke’s set on stage.

β€œIt was just to let the crowd know we support them and love them,” Officer Youngblood later told the Detroit Free Press. β€œAnd they love us too. It’s a great thing when the community and the police come together.”

There are few things that come close to watching a cop rave, we’re sure. Watch Officer Youngblood stir up the crowd below. Subscribe to The Sherp for more festival news.
