Gear Up For Sunburn Goa And It’s Scintillating Stages

The Sherp breaks down the significance of each stage at Asia’s largest music festival, and helps you make your very own itinerary, before you head out to Goa at the end of the year. 

When you head to a festival like Sunburn, you’re spoilt for choice in terms of where to be and when. This year is going to be the biggest ever in the festival’s history and to make your life a little easier, we’ve decoded the stage wise allocation at this year’s edition, so you can plan your Sunburn experience way in advance.

1. Dance Temple Stage

Unadulterated mainstream sounds will dominate the proceedings at the spectacular main stage at Sunburn this year. Over 200 feet wide, the biggest stage in Asia will be featuring the chunk of the headliners and is expected to pull the attention of most of the Sunburn faithful. The magnificence of the stage design at the Dance Temple Arena is going to be second to none, and will give most architectural structures around the world a run for their money.

2. Cubezoid Stage 

The Cubezoid is a unique 3D production that combines advanced projection technologies to make for a truly unforgettable, multi-sensory experience. After making it’s first ever performance out of Goa this year at Sunburn Mumbai, the stage comes back to it’s prodigal home and will feature a blend of the best local and international artistes.  Watch out for the Shaan b2b with Deniz Koyu, British drum n bass specialist Sub Focus, Trance legend Paul Oakenfold‘s return to India, Emma Hewitt‘s mesmerizing voice and a power-packed trap session with Baauer.

3. Hero Space Station Stage

This stage is dedicated to Techno/Deep House faithful. The artistes performing here are some of the best in the business, and in the wake of the techno wave that’s hit India over the recent past, seems like the perfect getaway for the lovers of the genre. Jamie Jones‘ mention in the line-up was greeted with unprecedented appreciation and with Sasha‘s return with Sunburn after a long hiatus, this stage has it’s hands full with its share of awesomeness. With a capacity of almost 4000 people, this stage is expected to be packed at all times.

4. Space Jungle Stage 

Staying true to the psy-trance culture that Goa has cultivated, this area will provide the best psychedelic music from around the world. With an arsenal consisting of global psychedelic superstars such as Sonic Species, Avalon, Eclip, Hypnoise – who have bags of experience performing at festivals like Ozora and Boom, the stage will also be lit up by the local names on the roster who will also keep the Goa vibe running through the festival.

5. Secret/ Experimental Stage

Dominated by homegrown talents from across the country, this stage will see a melting pot of genres. If you want to open up your horizons of musical understanding, head here and discover some fresh sounds. Featuring here are the likes of Exit Records frontman dBridge, Samuel Dan and the highly regarded Amsterdam Dance Event curator Jonty Skrufff – this stage is packed with some of the true pioneers of music.

There’s also going to be a blockbuster variety of live acts at the festival – Alo Wala, Dualist Inquiry, Madboy Mink and others among it’s ranks.
