The rather nicely named Tilt Festival claims to be Mumbai’s first “urban culture festival”. I’m not sure if it’s the first, partly because I’m not sure what urban culture consists of. If this festival is anything to go by, urban culture consists of poi, fire-dancing, breakdance, parkour, photography, fashion accessories and of course celebrity appearances. (Because as an urban society, where would we be without celebrity appearances?) Cooler still will be the cutting edge 3D technology-performances, top DJs from France, Germany and India, live bands and visual & performing arts. And what is urban culture without fine dining? Lo behold, two parallel food festivals showcasing exotic cuisines from Europe and South East Asia. Held across three neighbouring clubs/lounges/watering holes, Busaba, Café Zoe and Blue Frog, The Tilt Festival is certainly bound to create an experience you haven’t been part of before. And it helps that the three places that will host it also happen to be three of best places in Mumbai to hang. So tilt back and enjoy, homie!
*Venue* Todi Mills, Lower Parel, Mumbai. *By Train* The nearest railway station to the venues are Lower Parel station on the western railway line at a distance of 700 mts and Curry Road railway station on the central line at a distance of 1.2 kms. One can take a black and yellow taxi to the venues. *By Air* International flights land at Sahar Airport which is about 17 kms from from Lower Parel, while the Domestic Terminal, Vile Parle is at a distance of 13.7 kms. Taxis / Prepaid taxis are available to the venues. *By Road* Mumbai has one of the most efficient and reliable public transport network. One can travel by Taxi to reach the venues. Autorickshaws, however do not go further south than Sion and Bandra. For longer distance, you can use either the BEST Bus Network.
