The fifth Dharamshala International Film Festival’s will take place this year from 3rd to 6th November in 2016 in McLeod Ganj, Dharamshala. The registrations for the festival are now open on BookMyShow!

DIFF is presented by White Crane Arts & Media, a trust founded by veteran filmmakers Ritu Sarin and Tenzing Sonam to promote contemporary cinema, art and independent media practices in the Himalayan regions of India. The first edition of the DIFF was held back in 2012. Since then, the festival has seen a steady growth and is now one of the biggest and most celebrated film festivals in the country.

The festival is known for its cutting edge programming, diverse variety of chosen movies and their policy of inviting as many directors as possible. This has made it one of the biggest go-to events for movie lovers all over!

For the fourth year in a row, the shorts selection has been curated by filmmaker Umesh Kulkarni, who has been a DIFF participant and supporter from the very first edition. This year, cinephiles at DIFF can look forward to films like A Syrian Love Story, Kammatipaadam, A Korean in Paris, Sonita, The Island Funeral and Lathe Joshi, to name a few.

The venue for this year has been changed from Tibetan Institute of Performing Arts to the quaint Tibetan Children’s Village. Along with film screenings, there will be multiple panel discussions, master classes, workshops and food and craft stalls.

The Dharamshala International Film Festival 2016 is going to be inspiring and a must-see event for cinephiles.
