Stories from the greatest convention prove just why we love it so much!

San Diego Comic-Con just ended and we still can’t stop geeking out over all the amazing trailers it enriched our lives with! But there were a lot of other really amazing things that happened there this year and we got some of the stories right for you! Here’s 7 times Comic-Con proved to be one of the happiest places in the world!

  1. When Cosplayers came together to read David Bowie’s ‘Heroes’

2. Because things like this happened

Having your party host show up in an off-screen official 89 batmobile w/ police escort to comic con on 5th and buy you dinner in the restaurant he rented out for our small group. Best way to end a comic con ever.’

3. When one moment perfectly represented what the Convention stands for

We were walking up on Nerd HQ when we saw Nichelle Nichols was being helped into her car. There was a crowd of course and across the street was a special Star Trek exhibit, a line and a bunch of Star Trek cosplayers, they were official, each representing a character from a different era such as Data, Deana Troi, Kirk, etc. They looked perfect. They all lined up and gave her the Vulcan salute as she settled in and drove away. I seriously teared up. I felt like such a fucking nerd, but it was one of the sweetest moments I had witnessed and why I love Comic Con and the community. THESE are the moments I love.’

4. WHEN THIS ADORABLE PROPOSAL TOOK PLACE

“I can’t think of anyone else I’d want by my side slaying zombies and killing vampires and killing demons and whatever else is out there.”

Comic Con, ladies and gentlemen.

5. Because it meant so much to so many people

Just being there. This was my first year attending and I cannot tell you how much of a great experience it was. I mean, here are these things that I used to get made fun of for liking when I was younger, and now it’s this huge event where I can go and do what I want and see what I want without fear of being judged. That first morning, as I came down the escalator and entered the show floor for the first time, I was so overwhelmed with emotion that I almost started tearing up. Definitely can’t wait to do it again!’

6. Because magical things like this happen

Going to a Conan taping and seeing the cast of Gotham in an elevator at my hotel.’

7. At the end of the day, it’s one of the nicest places on earth

how nice 99% of people were. I was working & absolutely loved talking to the community! everyone at all ages was very plur, if you will. seeing cosplayers breaking into song & dance made me laugh!!! #1 experience was finding Alice & The Mad Hatter who invited people to share tea, they were not paid to be there & they weren’t going into con, they just wanted to talk to people and make friends. That touched me :)’
